Hello friends and happy holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. This was my year off from working in the hospital so I enjoyed getting time with family back in Missouri. We ate way too many peanut fudge bars but it is all worth it at the end of the day. Hope your Christmas was filled with laughter, joy and love.
We are getting ready to approach the semi-annual Lilly Pulitzer sale, referred to as the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale! It’s the only time that they offer sales, and when Lilly Pulitzer has a sale they go big! Prices get slashed by approximately 65%! In the September 2018 Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale there were approximately 2,000 items on sale – with about 550 of those items being dresses. So needless to say, there is something for everyone. If you are new to the sale, the trick is to act quickly because items sell out extremely fast! Below is my 2019 Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale guide, loaded with tips, tricks and price estimates for the sale.
When is the Winter 2019 Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale?
Each year the big After Party Sale date is a giant secret. We don’t know until a few days in advance when we get the official email from Lilly Pulitzer. Let’s look at past January After Party Sale start dates:
- 2016 – January 4
- 2017 – January 5
- 2018 – January 3
Looking at the pattern of these past dates, my prediction is the 2019 Lilly Pulitzer After Sale will start online Monday, January 7, 2019, with pre-sale in Lilly Pulitzer stores beginning on January 5, 2019.

2019 Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Tips

- Lilly Pulitzer will likely have an After Party Sale preview in Lilly Pulitzer stores 1-2 days before the online sale. Store selection is more limited but it’s the best way to truly see and feel the items on sale. Expect a line outside the stores to start early. If you prefer to go to the store without a wait, I recommend Sunday afternoon.
- Become familiar with their new website. Earlier this year Lilly Pulitzer launched a new layout to their website. Become familiar with it in advance so you can navigate easily – because items will go quickly!
- Set up and verify a Lilly Pulitzer account in advance. Having your Lilly Pulitzer account pre-created saves time at checkout. Have address and billing information (optional) entered into your Lilly Pulitzer account. Since their website changed in August, not all prior account information was rolled over. (My address and billing information were not saved from the old website.) Verify your information in advance. Lilly Pulitzer has said in the past that you will not be able to do this on the morning of the sale, prior to 7am CST, so I recommend doing managing your account now.
- Know your sizing in advance. You can look at this sizing chart here. Or you can use the “Fit Predictor” tool. When you shop an item, Lilly uses a “Fit Predictor” to help find your best size based on other brands you may wear. (As an example, click on this item, scroll down as if you are going to select a size, use the adjacent “Fit Predictor” tool to determine your recommended sizing.) Since all sales are final, invest a few minutes to learn what sizes you wear in Lilly Pulitzer. Doing this in advance will save time during the sale.
- The Lilly Pulitzer app will be off during the sale. To shop online, use Lilly’s website on your computer, phone or tablet. I recommend shopping on your computer as you can browse several items at once.

- Be ready for the online sale to start. The sale usually begins at 7am CST in the morning. By 7:01 there will be a virtual line to get into the sale on the Lilly website that is several thousand people long. Starting at 6:59 am I click refresh often until the sale begins. Once you are in the sale or in a virtual line, do not click refresh. If you refresh while in the virtual line you will lose your place and the wait time will start over.
- The virtual line to get into the sale online usually goes faster than predicted. For example, if the wait time is listed at an hour, you will often have access to the sale in less than an hour. There is a ringing sound that is made when you are moved from the virtual line into the After Party Sale so keep your volume up.
- Plan in advance and shop quickly. Items go very fast, especially more popular items like unique prints, embroidered items, and jewelry. Shift dresses, above all, tend to go first. Know what you want from the sale in advance. Refer to my After Party Sale Pricing Estimates guide below to help budget your wishlist. Items are not reserved while they are in your shopping cart. The purchase must be completed in order to reserve items. Once you complete the purchase, if you want to re-enter the sale you have to start the wait time over again.
- Shipping is free, but will may take a few weeks. Due to the surge in orders, it may take 4 weeks to receive your items. Expedited shipping is not available. On average, my items arrive in 1-2 weeks.
- Check back on the sale periodically for added items. Lilly Pulitzer will add new items to the sale throughout the sale. Usually the second day of the online sale has a handful of new pieces and minimal to no wait time. Lilly Pulitzer often notifies customers over social media or email when new items are added.
- Stock up on gifts for others. I love giving my mom a beautiful Lilly Pulitzer cashmere cardigan and the sale is the perfect time to take advantage of high quality gifts at a fraction of the price. Lilly Pulitzer has a gift section with additional gifting ideas.
2019 Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Price Estimates
The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale is excellent when it comes to discounts, one reason why it is so successful. They do not hold back on significant price cuts during this quick, semi-annual sale. So get excited to save big!! Below is a list of price estimates, including ranges within a category to item specific price estimates. Because the sale has so many items not all items are included. What is listed are some of the most popular items and best sellers. Girls clothing and swimwear categories are generally also a big part of the sale.
