Decorating mirrors for the holidays is a quick way to add festive elements throughout your home and workspace. The best part is that you can make it your own using only a few supplies. Whether you prefer a traditional look with mixed greenery and bells, or a colorful party vibe with tinsel and blown ornaments, the possibilities are endless! I have tried many methods to hang the garland, and ultimately this method has been both the most successful and easiest. So let’s dive into how to decorate a mirror for Christmas.

My trick is to use strong vacuum suction hangers. These each have two hooks, perfect for layering garlands and adding other elements like lights, smaller string garlands, etc… They are quick to set up and easy to reposition/remove.

To determine how many suction hangers you need: my rule of thumb is one hanger per 1-2 feet of mirror you need the greenery to be held. I did not use any hooks for where greenery is draping downwards. You may end up using less hangers if your garlands are lightweight, but this helps to determine how many to order just in case.

How to Decorate a Mirror for Christmas:

– Mirror
– Greenery Garland
– Bell Garland
– Suction Hanger
– Christmas Tree

– Clean mirror and allow to fully dry.
– Place the suction hangers on the mirror towards the perimeter of the mirror. Follow suction hanger instructions to pull down lever to create a strong grip. Space hangers out, approximately one hanger every 1-2 feet.
– Hang greenery garland along the hangers. (I used two strands of garland and had them overlapping for about a foot.)
– Drape any finer garland or string lights between the hangers.
– Place any desirable decorative objects near the mirror, like small trees, faux florals, etc…
