As we begin a new year, I’m reminded it is a fresh season to invite growth, improvement and create goals. Bring it! One way I love relishing in the New Year is with occasional pops of bright colors! Fashion is a way to express personality, and I believe brighter tones radiate happiness. So grab your favorite colors, break up the monotony of winter dark tones, and let’s talk about wearing brighter colors in the winter! Wearing Bright Colors in the Winter

I love integrating brights into my winter style! There are so many creative ways to pull in pops of pinks, blues, purples and yellows into your winter outfit while keeping it aesthetic, professional and on point!

Easy ways to wear brighter colors in the winter:

• Build your outfit from the bright piece first. Choose your pants, cardigans, etc… based on the brights.
• I find bright and bold colors layer well with darker neutrals: charcoal gray, black, navy, etc… Lighter bright tones pair well with softer neutrals: ivory, winter white, beige, light gray, etc…
• Don’t overdo the brights. Leave it to just one to two pieces of bright tones.
• When wearing prints, pull from the darker tones in the print to layer your outfit. For example, if the print has black, I may add a black vest, cardigan or blazer. If the print has navy, integrate navy or camel browns into the outfit. Use this on a case-by-case basis.
• Brighter pastels look so gorgeous in the winter when worn with a luxurious white coat or pair of pants! This coat is a current favorite.

Like I said, I usually style the rest of my outfit from looking at the bright item first, and there are so many color combinations you can style with brights.

Favorite bright + neutral color combos:

• Fuchsia with black
• Periwinkle with cream
• Cobalt blue with gray
• Rose pink with gold or tans
• Orange with camel brown
• Yellow with navy
• Shamrock green with black

Of course, these are just suggestions and there are so many color combos you can wear. Make it YOUR style!

About this outfit: I LOVE these silk tops that come in so many colors! (Hint: Other prints will be on sale tomorrow here.) Using the black within this print, I built my outfit from there. Adding a vest provided warmth – and I bought this black, quilted vest for around $23! From there, I paired it with black pants, booties and handbag (similar one here). I think with a bright top like this, you can really stick to neutrals – specifically black – very easily!

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Update

Speaking of bright colors, Lilly Pulitzer has so many fun colors that will be in their sale that starts online tomorrow! Y’all there is SOOO much good stuff in this sale! I had about 10 minutes between the time I got off work until the time my local Lilly Pulitzer store closed to browse the sale. It was a quick dash through but I loved everything I saw!
