Happy 2017! I hope you had a wonderful New Years weekend and celebrated just the way you prefer. The last couple years I have stayed home for NYE, but this year we celebrated with a wedding in the Hill Country of Texas – both ways are wonderful in their own way! I’ll be sharing some pictures on the weekend getaway to the Hill Country and San Antonio area later this week.

Now that we are in the new year, a lot more people start taking vacations down south and in a few months it will be spring. One of my all time favorite designers for both of these occasions – hands down – is Lilly Pulitzer. I love the bright pastels, playful patterns and beach wear. Lilly Pulitzer does make great winter clothing, as well, however her brights are where she shines!

So the reason I’m mentioning this now, in January, is because Lilly Pulitzer’s semi-annual sale is coming up soon! I am a huge fan of Lilly’s clothing, but the price tag is steep. The best way to stock up on her clothing (for any time of the year) is through the sale. Each year Lilly does the two-day sale in January and August. The sale will cover hundreds of items, for women and children, and they slash prices significantly – depending on the items, approximately 60% off! Most of my Lilly Pulitzer clothing and jewelry is purchased through this sale, also known as the “After Party Sale”.  If you like Lilly, you don’t want to miss out on big savings. The sale is wildly popular and items sell out quickly, so see below for details and personal tips to take advantage of the Lilly Pulitzer sale!

About this outfit:  the wrap is Lilly’s Cashmere Wrap. It was one of the few items I have not purchased from the sale, however that means it will probably be in this upcoming sale! Lilly Pulitzer “After Party” Sale Details and Tips:

• The sale lasts two days and usually occurs in January and August each year. The sale starts January 5th at 7am central time. Clothing will sell out very quickly! All sales are final.
• Set up an account online prior to the sale. Fill in your information, address and credit card information so this is ready during the sale. Taking the time to do this during the sale may result in your goods being removed from your cart as others check out.
• Know your “True Fit” Size. This tool will help you find the correct size based on previous purchases, age, height and weight.
• The sale usually starts around 7am (central time). To view the biggest selection of merchandise, you want to start exactly at 7am. I set an alarm (if I’m not working already) and will refresh my computer at 6:59am every 30 seconds or so. Once the sale starts, you will be given a number in line. This number will likely be very high (I have been over 30,000 in line before!) but don’t worry the wait goes quickly. Lilly will estimate your wait time, but I have always waited significantly less time than quoted. If the volume on your computer is turned up, you will hear a “ding” when your wait time is over.
• Shop quickly! Just because you place items in your shopping cart does not make them reserved. Items are only reserved when you check out. Once you check out, you have to wait back in line.
• Check back on the second day – they usually add other items. By the second day of the sale, there is usually minimal to no wait time to shop.
• Try other resources available to the sale. Lilly has an app that may be available to shop quickly, and avoid the lines. Previously the app was the fastest way to enter the sale and shop. However last August, the app was not accessible to sale items so the app is not a guarantee.
• LP stores will usually have sales. Find when you local store opens and get there early! They may not have the same selection as online but one benefit is to try before you buy. Since everything is final sale, this helps you find the perfect item and size before purchasing.
