Milk and Cookies for Santa | Cute Family Activity

milk and cookies for Santa

It’s officially Christmas week! We are preparing for Santa and his reindeer today with milk, cookies, and a special reindeer treat! I had so much fun preparing for Santa as a child – this is such a great tradition and family activity! Using Walmart’s grocery pickup and delivery service this holiday gift to Santa is affordable and convenient during the busy holiday season!

Mild and Cookies for Santa!

Oh how Santa loves his milk and cookies! Staying traditional, we figured Santa would love traditional chocolate chip cookies and whole milk! Since 2020 has brought a wild ride, we added some egg nog to spice things up! He has a busy night up ahead, we want to keep him fueled for the ride!

Reindeer Food!

We know Dasher, Dancer and Prancer will be hungry with all of their hard work, so we don’t want to forget feeding them, too! I heard that they also love a little sweet treat, so we are going to make them a delightful snack! This is easy to make and can be a fun activity for families!

To make a quick batch of reindeer food, fill a medium sized bowl with the desired amount of rice Chex cereal and M&Ms. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate melting wafers in the microwave per instructions on the packaging. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the bowl with Chex and M&Ms. Start slow with the white chocolate, as you can always add more if needed. Carefully stir the mixture. Mix in a few Christmas sprinkles while the mix is still warm. Spread out on a baking sheet and allow to cool. The reindeer also love pretzels and peanuts if you want to include more in your reindeer food mix!

Spoon a little reindeer food into bags and staple on the official Reindeer Food label!

Download the Reindeer Food printable below. In the print settings, adjust the sizing as needed for your bag of treats (i.e. for a 4 inch wide treat bag, you may want to scale the sizing to 40%). View the estimated size in print preview mode. Fold the printable in half and staple it to the top of a treat bag.

Shopping List + How to Save on Groceries

I love using Walmart in preparation for all my holiday grocery shopping! Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup and Delivery service is the key to my success! I have found that Walmart’s pricing beats other competitors, like Kroger, while also providing great quality of both fresh and pantry ingredients. For example, the groceries used to treat Santa and his reindeer cost $5.43 less at Walmart! I also love that Walmart’s pickup process is contactless. Simply notify Walmart in their app that you have arrived to the store, pop the trunk and your groceries are loaded up for you. The pickup service is free and there are no additional fees or markup on your purchase! Freshness is guaranteed; if you are not 100% satisfied then you can get your money back. Walmart also offers a convenient delivery service!

Live your life joyfully so,

Ashley
