Rustic Holiday Place Cards
As a child we spent our Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays visiting family in the outskirts of St. Louis, Omaha or Michigan. Two of those destinations were out in the countryside, filled with pine trees, snowy hills and fresh air. To this day, the holidays don’t feel complete without a little rustic touch.
Game Day Chili
Growing up we would spend fall weekends watching football. One my mom’s most common football dishes was chili. To this day, watching football at home doesn’t feel complete without a big bowl of chili covered with a heap of melted cheese.

Maple-Pecan Roasted Butternut Squash
When I think of butternut squash I think of, (1) a food that pairs nicely with gourds and pumpkins for decor in autumn, and (2) home-cooked meals with friends and family. This sweet squash puts life in the slow lane when on the table. In preparation for Thanksgiving, we prepared this with a classic combination, maple syrup and pecans. This dish pairs nicely with poultry, cornbread and your loved ones gathered around the table.
