Growing up we used to go to the lake and relax as a family on the water. My Grandma loved the idea and decided to purchase a condo that served as a meeting ground for family and friends. It is incredible to think of the many memories made under that roof. We celebrated birthdays, summer holidays and reunions. Recently I had the opportunity to revisit that little condo that stands for so much within our family. To pay tribute to those memories and kick off the start of summer, we made skinny watermelon frosé drinks! The simple ingredients are a refreshing way to embrace these summer months without extra guilt. Whether you are making a pitcher for you and a loved one, or keeping a batch ready after a sweaty day working out in the yard, this drink is sure to cool down the hot summer days.
This version of skinny watermelon frosé is kept simple. Only a few ingredients are needed and there are no added sugars. Plus, each drink brings in about a half a serving of fruit! Watermelon is the perfect summer fruit and packs nutritional benefits, such as lycopene, Vitamin C and amino acids, within each refreshing bite.
Since watermelon is considered a lower sugar fruit, this version of frosé will not be too sweet as there are no added sugars outside of the fruit and rosé. If you do want a sweeter alternative, this recipe looks delicious.
